Get that DIY Bottle Painted
For starters, you’ll need to pick your favorite beverage (we suggest using one with a cute shaped bottle and an adorable label like this LaMarca champagne bottle – for 21+ only of course). You’ll then want to carefully tape off the label and cork area with masking tape (so that the label does not pull away after painting). Prep your painting area so as to not overspray your furnishings etc and spray your bottle with a white spray paint. We would suggest 2 coats on this one. Then let it sit and dry.
Cut Out the cuties
While your paint is drying, cut out the objects you would like to adhere to your bottle. Since we’re all about Coastal style around here we chose this adorable Monstera Napkin – when choosing a napkin, be sure that the objects will be simple to cut out – not overlapping or too intricate). Once all of your objects are cut out (don’t worry about being exact, in our experience the white part of the napkin blends in nicely with the bottle) and your bottle is dry, it’s time to reveal the label and adhere your pattern.
Create your Pattern
After taking your masking tape off the label and cork area, you’ll want to strategically place a couple of the objects overlapping around the label of the bottle to frame it nicely. To adhere the pattern you will dab some Mod Podge onto the bottle and place your cut out on top of that. Then, use your foam brush to dab more Mod Podge on top to completely cover the object (don’t worry if it is white at first, the Mod Podge will dry clear). Once you’ve placed all of your objects in your desired places around the bottle, let it dry again.
Time to Party with your diy
Then… it’s PARTY time!! Whether you’re bringing this as a gift, to a dinner party, creating it for fun table decor or simply want the bottle to liven up your bar cart decor – this is such a fun and easy craft to wow your friends! With all of the different napkin patterns out there, the possibilities are endless! And the best part? You don’t need to throw it away after the party’s over. This bottle looks just as great empty as a vase or simple shelf decor. Enjoy!
